Which lost characters died

Her biological mother is the French woman, aka Danielle Rousseau, who crash landed on the island back in the late 80s with her research team. Shortly after giving birth, Alex was stolen by Ben and Ethan, brought back to The Others and was subsequently raised by Ben as his own daughter. Her death was another highly emotional moment, as Ben attempted to call the bluff of the mercenary team trying to capture him, claiming he never loved her and that she was simply a pawn in his master plan.

She was shot in the head on her own lawn. All Libby wanted was to get a few blankets so she could go on a picnic with Hurley.

There's no question that many fans were rooting for the relationship, which is why her death hurt even more. She was shot while collecting picnic supplies in the hatch and accidentally startled Michael, who was busy staging Ben's release. Libby was an innocent casualty along with Ana Lucia; although, Libby survived briefly and attempted to tell everyone that it was Michael, not Ben, who murdered her.

There's no question that John Locke is one of the most mysterious members of the island gang, so it makes sense that his death would be dramatic and shrouded in secrecy. Locke attempted to convince all of the survivors who made it off the island to return, but he failed. While feeling like a failure in his quest to save the island, Locke took up residence in a motel room to commit suicide before being stopped by Ben, who needed information from him.

Once Ben retrieved what he was after, he forced Locke to go through with his suicide. Little did Ben know that Locke would suddenly be seen walking around the island once more, albeit as a conduit for The Man in Black. The love story between Juliette and Sawyer was as heartwarming as it was unexpected.

Alex hears him say this just before she is executed. Shannon was not always a very pleasant person to be around. She started out being very selfish and uncaring to the other survivors. She even treated her step-brother Boone poorly.

However, she begins to understand and change her ways, thanks largely to her romance with Sayid. Their relationship is tested when Shannon begins seeing visions of Walt who had supposedly escaped the island.

At first Sayid thinks she is seeing things, but finally sees the visions himself only for Shannon to be accidentally shot by Anna Lucia and she dies in Sayid's arms. Boone was used to getting pushed around by Shannon, but he also sought to find some purpose on the island and help out the team. He eventually forms a friendship with Locke and the two begin exploring the mysterious jungles together. The two find a plane in a tree and when Boone investigates, it falls from the tree, severely injuring him.

Jack tries to save Boone but due to Locke lying about the accident, he is unable. With his last words, Boone forgives Jack for not saving him and manages to say " Tell Shannon…" before succumbing to his injuries. Michael's murder of Anna Lucia might have been planned, but Libby was just unfortunate collateral damage.

Like Anna Lucia, she was a survivor of the tail section. When the two groups of survivors united, Libby began a sweet relationship with Hurley. Tragically, as Libby was collecting supplies for a date night with Hurley, she walks in on Michael's murder and is killed as a result. As she still clings to life, Hurley says a heartbreaking goodbye and Libby tries to tell the other it was Michael who killed them but is unable to get the words out before dying.

Locke is certainly one of the most interesting characters on Lost. He believes that the island has great power and seeks to uncover its mysteries. He believes the island has a purpose for him and struggles to see it through. After several of the survivors leave the island, Locke is tasked with convincing them to come back. When he fails, he plans to kill himself, thinking he is a failure. He is talked out of it by Ben Linus only for Ben to promptly kill Locke himself who dies betrayed and confused after being lied to for so long.

In , the day following the death of Jacob at the hands of Ben and the return of the time-traveling survivors, The Others congregated at the Temple , where they assumed to be safe from Jacob's nemesis, the Man in Black. Through Sayid Jarrah , he warned them all to leave the Temple by sundown and follow him, or stay and die. He came true on his threats and came to the Temple that night, in his smoke monster form, murdering all of the remaining Temple residents who couldn't escape him, sparing his followers.

Kate Austen survived by dangling into a pit as the Man in black in smoke monster form charged overhead. At some point during this time, the remaining passengers of Ajira were murdered and dumped by an unknown assailant on the Hydra Island.

Michael sees Christian before he dies. Many deaths, especially those of main characters, come soon after the characters overcome their issues. While this could be seen as a way of progressing the story, it eventually appeared a property of the Island, which killed those with whom it had finished. Soon after Boone overcame his feelings for his sister , he suffered the Beechcraft accident that killed him, and Shannon died at Ana-Lucia 's hand soon after she managed to get others to believe her.

Ana-Lucia , in turn, died at Michael 's hands seconds after she told him she sought redemption. Michael himself died after redeeming himself for this betrayal through his actions on the Kahana. Dying with eyes open is a common occurrence with many of the characters. In some cultures, dying with eyes open is interpreted as dying in a state of unrest or mission in life unfulfilled. The show advanced several alternatives for what occurs after death. Some characters return as ghosts.

Some stay as whispers.
