Where to find hearthfire

There are a total of three unique houses for players to buy and build in their vision within the Hearthfire DLC in Skyrim. Each of these houses has its own unique features, and each one sits in its own distinct little biome.

Players were initially very excited when these houses were introduced within the Hearthfire DLC, but it can be difficult to pick which one the Dragonborn should buy first. All of these houses are prime spots for taking off your gorgeous armor and settling down! The following information will be a buyer's guide to each house and will explain both the terrain surrounding each homestead, as well as any unique features that they may have.

The Hearthfire houses are great, especially considering that each Hearthfire house has a unique feature that players can build to obtain a specific type of material or special item. Updated July 23, by Gabrielle Huston: Skyrim's tenth anniversary has encouraged many players to revisit this old title.

Despite its age, there are games on the market that just can't compete with Skyrim. This article has been updated to detail some of the advantages to building your home in one place or another, give each house a section all to itself, and highlight the unique feature of each location. Whether you choose to expand a Hearthfire house with mods or not, you have to fall in love with the location you've picked in order to truly make it home.

Heljarchen Hall is extremely close to Whiterun, being just a few minutes walk or horse ride from this massive and popular city. Many players enjoy playing without fast travel, and having Whiterun so close to the player's house can be a very beneficial trait.

The terrain around Heljarchen Hall is a combination of both Whiterun hold and the Pale, making for a snowy grassland exterior. The fact that this house is so close to one of the biggest cities in the game and that the terrain surrounding it is so distinct and diverse makes for one of the best reasons to choose this as the player's home.

This land is one of the best places to hang the player's sword! Since it's so close to Whiterun, it's also a bit easier to build than the others. No long loading screens are necessary when you run into town for supplies like glass or hay - you can just pop over to Whiterun and talk to the local blacksmith or general store owner.

Not to mention that the building process is made much easier by the proximity of this house's carpenter's workbench to clay and quarried stone deposits. Heljarchen Hall has a grain mill that can convert wheat into abundant amounts of flour, which will be especially useful for players that like to cook all the new recipes that Hearthfire adds to the game. Flour is essential for many different recipes in Skyrim, and players will be able to gain a lot of it simply by using their own grain mill.

Furnishings can be either bought directly from a steward or crafted using a wide variety of items. Furnishings vary for each type of building addition and include:. Once the house is complete, the option to move in with a spouse or adopt a child is available.

Additional options will be present for any adopted children, such as giving gifts, playing games or instructing them to do their chores. The option to allow them to keep pets is also included. Children will ask to keep a dog if one shows him or her the dog, setting the dog's home to the Dragonborn's. Occasionally the home may become subject to skeever infestations, giant attacks, marauding bandits, kidnappers, wolves , Draugr or armed bandits that must be slain.

Several new food items and consumables are also added, including updated models for all soups and stews, giving each a distinctive look. Before adding a bug to this list, consider the following:.
